Old business 2-Meter Net Report: Mike Dolson, NØZH, reported that there was a total of 103 check-ins for the month of February. Digipeater report: No report. Missouri Emergency Packet Network (MEPN): Jim, NØTKN, reported that there was an outage recently where the 6M node would not connect to anything. A site visit was made and the system reset. Since then there has not been any other problems noted. Emergency Coordinator's report: Joe, KBØQHZ reported that there was a meeting with FEMA to determine communications capabilities of various organizations across the state in the case of an emergency. There will be no help for ARES as it is considered a private entity, however, they know ARES is available. There is an exercise scheduled for June 3rd. ARES has not been formally requested to do anything. It is only for Districts E and C. VE Liaison’s report: Tom, NØSS, reported that the VE Liaison position is still open and would prefer that someone step in and fill this role. Tom will continue to fill in for the time being. An email will be sent around to all VE’s currently on the mailing list to find out if they wish to remain active. CW Classes: Tom, NØSS, reports that the advanced class is going well. This class meets before breakfast at 6:45am every Saturday morning at Mel’s Country Café. Thanks to Mike Miller and Mike McCrady for getting the battery powered amplifiers into the area. Tom has the 1/8” stereo jacks in hand for modifying keyers. Those who wish to have their keyers modified, please get them to Tom. Bill, W4RK, reports that the intermediate class is also going well with both students and instructors having fun. They have been concentrating on sending and the club should have more CW operators for Field Day. This class meets after breakfast from 9-10am at Mel’s. Kent, K9ZTV, added that the new beginning class is doing well and students are now between 5-10wpm. This class meets at 10am after breakfast and the slow speed class. Training Committee: Mike, KMØS, reported the Extra study group is going well. The Technician class is currently planned for three Saturdays: April 24, May 1, and May 8. Instructors are still needed and anyone interested in helping, please let Mike know. The class is projected to have 12-18 students. The location for the classes will be at the Mormon Church at 4618 Henwick Lane from roughly 9am to 4pm. An exam will be scheduled sometime after the last class. A General class may be on the horizon for later in the fall. Club Shirts/Jackets/Patches: No update. Mike, NØZH, said he may have a contact and will investigate as well. SEMA Callsign: Jim, NØTKN, reported no updates as of yet. New business None Announcements: Jim, NØTKN, donated various pieces electronic equipment to anyone interested. Roger, KDØFAS, mentioned that the conference area at Hy-Vee may be available as an alternate meeting location should we need to make use of it. Roger will check into this option. Congratulations to Chuck, AF6GT, on setting a new record for both number of check-ins to the weekly net and also for the length of the net! MS-150 is scheduled for September 11 and 12 this year.
