However, everything else is working ok. Digipeater report: No report. Missouri Emergency Packet Network (MEPN): Tom was able to connect to MJEF, but did not try any further. Tom will try again to test how far the connection goes. Emergency Coordinator's report: Joe, KBØQHZ reported that there will be some testing on the 80M and 40M component of the Missouri Emergency Services Net for passing traffic. It will be a prelude to the June 3rd exercise coming up later. This test will take place on Saturday, April 10th from 10:15am to 11:15am. VE Liaison’s report: Tom, NØSS, reported there were two exam sessions last month and both examinees passed. There will be two exams after the meeting as well. Please remember to respond to emails for VE help even if you cannot participate. CW Classes: Tom, NØSS, reports that the advanced class is going well and new people are being added. This class meets before breakfast at 6:45am every Saturday morning at Mel’s Country Café. Kent, K9ZTV, reports that the intermediate class is shrinking since students are leaving to join Tom’s class, but that is good news. This class meets after breakfast from 9-10am at Mel’s. Kent, K9ZTV, added that the beginning class is continuing. This class meets at 10am after breakfast and the slow speed class. Training Committee: Mike, KMØS, reported the Extra study group is going well and should be ready to start an exam session towards the end of the month. The Technician class is down to four students and two of those may not make the last session. Given that, this class may be postponed to a later date when more students are available to attend. Mike, WAØZOG, reminded everyone that there are online audio study guides available for those interested. A VE session may be put together soon for those interested in becoming an examiner. Club Shirts/Jackets/Patches: Mike, NØZH, spoke with someone about the shirts and jackets. This person cannot do nylon jackets. Randall, KDØDSJ, also provided a contact that may be available. SEMA Callsign: No report. New business Nancie, KDØDDY, informed the club that the Race to the Dome event will be held on July 3rd from 9AM to 1PM. This is a canoe race along the Missouri River and the race organizers could use help with race communications. Those interested in helping are encouraged to contact Nancie. Mike, WAØZOG, reported that Tom received a letter asking for financial support for the 2010 World Radiosport Team Championship. The letter was read to the club and a discussion followed. Joe, KBØQHZ, moved to send a donation of $100 and Tom seconded. The motion passed. A reminder will be given at the July meeting for folks to work the participants in the contest. Kent, K9ZTV, reported that the Mayor’s Run for Reading will be held on April 24th and the club has been requested to provide communications. Kent accepted on the club’s behalf. Those interested should contact Kent. Field Day is scheduled for June 26th and 27th. Rick, KCØPET, reported that planning is getting underway and currently the committee is working on getting vehicles for operating positions. The MEROC vehicle is almost a done deal. Two other vehicles are still in the works. Anyone interested in helping with the planning, please contact Rick. Announcements: Tom, NØSS, donated several QST magazines to anyone interested. Tom also announced that the gel-cel battery charger prototype is available for demo. Hamfests: Ararat Hamfest, April 17th Linn Hamfest/Traffic Net Picnic, May 1st.
