An instruction manual is being written to describe how to use the system and will be made available for those wishing to know more. Emergency Coordinator's report: Joe, KBØQHZ reported that there is some feedback on the advanced EMCOMM class. The proposed requirements do not make much sense. There are also considerable perquisites including many FEMA courses. Dennis Gideon has been asked to look into the situation. We are set up to test for EMCOMM Level 1. Twenty-one people passed the exam on October 24th. VE Liaison’s report: Jack, WBØS, reported that 9 exams were given on November 5th at the Highway Patrol Test Session resulting in 7 new Technician licensees. There will be one test tonight after the meeting. Jack has also proposed another VE session in the near future. CW Classes: Tom, NØSS, reports that the advanced class is still going well. The class is working on traffic handling. This class meets before breakfast at 6:45am every Saturday morning at Mel’s Country Café. Kent, K9ZTV, reports that the class is now known as an intermediate class. This class meets after breakfast from 9-10am at Mel’s. Training Committee: Mike, KMØS, reported that we have been asked to assist with a Technician class for up to 30 students in the April or May timeframe. Also an Extra class study session is being looked into starting in December and going through February. A General class study session will be planned for next fall. Mike will send an email to the distribution list to find out who is interested in the Extra classes. Halloween Special Event Station (WØO): The event was a huge success and even managed to land the club on the front page of the Unterrified Democrat, the weekly newspaper in Linn, MO. There were 300 combined contacts, 130 on SSB and 170 on CW. The log sheet showed about 20-25 signatures which made for a great turnout. The Warrensburg club reserved WØF and did the event on their own. They were happy with the arrangement and agreed that it does help to simplify QSLing. Judy’s daughter designed the QSL card for this year’s event and did an outstanding job! Ideas for next year include setting up on Saturday and then begin operating on Sunday morning around 8am continuing until around 7 or 8pm. Club Shirts/Jackets/Patches: Mike has not heard anything more from the vendor and is continuing to investigate this possibility.
