Digipeater report: No problems noted. MEPN: No Report. Emergency Coordinators report: Spills of National Significance (SONS) was discussed. Very little information is known about this emergency preparedness event at this time, other than it may occur in the near future. Additionally, an emergency plan for a Bagnell Dam emergency was discussed but no details know at this time. CW Class: The CW class continues to meet every Saturday, at 0645 (before breakfast), at Mel’s Country Café. Lewis & Clark Homeward Bound: The operators who participated in the WØL special event station discussed the operation. SSB and CW were used as well at VHF on local repeater. Conditions on the HF bands were bad, but the station made approx 100 contacts including DX stations. The Capitol Dome was unavailable for the VHF station as planned. The station closed early on Sunday due to a powerful electrical storm. Frankenstein special event: The special event station WØO from Frankenstein on Halloween was briefly discussed. Willis Porter Corwin / 9ABD special event: K9ZTV presented the club with a draft of the text to be printed on the plaque to be placed at the site of Willis Corwin’s station. Club members reviewed the draft and suggested minor changes. K9ZTV recommended the club to purchase a brick for the veterans’ plaza to memorialize Willis. The club voted and passed a motion to purchase the brick at a cost of $100. Spotter Training: Upcoming spotter training was discussed. Although A date has not been decided, it may occur at the first of the year (2007). New business: License class: NØSS will hold a class for students interested to getting a ham radio license. The class is to begin in November. Member News: The club was excited to learn the Ben (NØOFD) is getting married. Ben is planning to move to St. Louis with his Bride, Julie. Congratulations, Ben! The club will miss Ben but we expect periodic appearances (such as during Field Day). Ben also donated an APRS tracker to the club.
