Levels still need set. Cooling fan code has been updated. Some cables still need to be made. Coverage area is as good as or better than the old repeater. Digipeater report: No problems noted. MEPN: No new news. Emergency Coordinators report: Don More visited to answer any question about the MS-150. Some changes from previous years include having 2 nets instead of just one. ARES planning for the event can be found at: www.ares-mo.org/ms150/. Field Day: Field day score was incorrectly reported last month. Total points earned was 6,100. CW Class: The CW class continues to meet every Saturday, at 0645 (before breakfast), at Mel’s Country Café. Homeward Bound: Planning was discussed about the homeward bound special event station to be help September 15-16. The call sign will be WØL. Planned operating site will be on East Capitol, North-East of the capitol guard tower. NØVAU has arranged access to the top of the capitol dome to operate a VHF station. A few club members will visit the site to for further planning. New business: Frankenstein special event: Brief discussion of Frankenstein special event October 31. Willis Porter Corwin, 9ABD special event: Biased on research by K9ZTV, the club discussed having a special event station commemorating Willis Porter Corwin, 9ABD and the first transcontinental message via radio. Corwin lived in Jefferson City when the message was passed to him January 27, 1917. Intended activity for the event includes operating from the site of Corwin’s home (now owned by Exchange Bank), affixing a plaque to a stone wall on the site commemorating the event and Corwin, and dedication of the plaque at Corwin’s grave site. VE exams: None ARES/Skywarn: NØROK pointed out that activity in ARES/Skywarn seems low. The club discussed possible reasons for the low activity.
