Emergency Co-ordinator’s Report: Crisis Communications Conference had several club members in attendance. Demonstration on how to put two wires together 100 ways. Equipment to support interoperability. National Weather Service mentioned that 90% of the information they receive from non-NWS sources is from amateur radio operators. 217 people attended the conference and approximately 100 were hams.
And a session on The State of 911 concluded the discussion.
Jack (WØJES) is going to investigate getting an amateur station set up at the Missouri State Fair. More information will be coming on if there will be a need for operators.

Earth Day Special Event: We have secured the call sign KØC for "keep conserving". Date for the event is Friday April 20th. Operators will be needed during the day to operate from the Capitol Grounds and some public relations activities will be included. After the "official" Earth Day activities conclude, the special event station will operate from either Steve’s (KCØACQ) or Tom’s (NØSS) QTH, and this will be contest mode. Need some graphic displays, and posters about how amateur radio plays a part in natural disasters. We have the call sign for two days (Friday and Saturday)
RDF Kit Up-date: Settled on the WA2EDY design. Eric (NMØX) is trying to minimize the amount of etching required. Tom has 144 sq ft of PC board. He will demonstrate the process to anyone who is interested in observing the operation. Eric is confident that the design will be compatible with the APRS equipment.
