Old business:

2 Meter Net Report: Not recorded.

Dual Band Antenna Purchase: Motion made and seconded, voted to pass, to reimburse KBØHNR for the purchase price of the antenna.

Jim Peasner Easter Memorial: Voted to approve the annual Easter Memorial for Jim Peasner.

Earth Day Report: Map of Earth Day location was passed around and discussed. KCØCZI will furnish tent that is self-supporting. Several members plan to check out the set-up location. Participation in the event will begin at 9:00 a.m. but others could be there earlier to help set up the tent. Bryan (KØEMT) reported that tables have been located, electric is nearby and the club has extension cords, no need to bring QSL cards, sign-up sheet available for classes, club banner may be displayed. Need to have posters on propagation and current events that are weather-related. Expenses to have materials scanned and/or printed were approved.

1 5/8" Hardline: Need to find time to inventory the line at Tom’s (NØSS) QTH on the following Saturday. NØQBO (Luke) in Osage Beach would like 200 feet for a 220 repeater. Several club members were instrumental in acquiring this material, so it would be preferable to have club members get first pick of the material. This needs to be done quickly so that the reels can be removed from Tom’s yard.

New business:

Field Day Update: The letter from SEMA allowing the use of their vehicle is waiting to be signed by the administration. Resource vehicle is also available to use as information distribution. In the process of getting approval from Maytag.

Use of SEMA Equipment: May offer to operate the Missouri Traffic Net on an occasional basis to give the equipment some exercise and familiarize club members with its use. KCØCZI asked to see hands of anyone interested in participating in this activity. Missouri Traffic Net is on 3.960 MHz at 5:45 p.m. using Richard’s call sign, NØQOI.

2 Meter Net schedule: March 18 NØMV

April 25 KAØOUV

May 2 KBØHNR

May 9, 2001 KCØCZI

Hand-held Device legislation: Would limit the use of any telecommunication device while driving a vehicle to emergency personnel and CB operators. Representative Holland told KCØCZI that the bill seems to be "dead" in committee and will not go to the general session. The bill may be brought up again in future years. WØJAS has quite a lot of additional information available.

Dues received at (or since) meeting: KØIRI, KCØCZI, WØRAJ

Respectfully submitted (05/07/2001): Steven C. Klenc, KCØACQ, Secretary-Treasurer
