Minutes of the Mid-MO Amateur Radio Club, Inc. Jefferson City, MO

Meeting of May 11, 2000.

Called to order by: President Joe Betros (KBØQHZ)

Date/location of the next meeting: Thursday, June 8, 2000, Central Church of Christ, corner of Washington and W. Ashley Streets. Enter from the alley on the east side of the church (midway up the alley).

Bank balance a/o April 28 , 2000: $1,049.29.

Minutes: Approved as corrected.

Old business:

Repeater report: Tim, KAØOUV reported no problems with repeater. There were occasional 'dry line noise' problems. No power failures from the recent storms.

2-meter net report: four nets yielding 42 check-ins.

Digipeater report: No reported problems this month.

Emergency Coordinators report: Ben, NØOFD, reported four weather net activations during the past month. Weather spotter training was conducted the previous evening, ( May 10) by the National Weather Service with near five hundred attendees.

Kurt, KBØHNR and Kevin, KCØCZI, briefed progress on organizing weather spotter and progress with a web site with additional information Web address is neo.1876.org/weather.

Steve, KCØACQ, reported that the jacket committed has suspended their vendor search until they are able to see what is available at the Dayton HamVention.

New business:

A recommendation was made by the Board of Directors and accepted by a majority of member present that, as a mater of policy, club property capable of transmitting on amateur bands not be sold or otherwise transferred to anyone not licensed to operate it.

Ben, NØOFD, reported that Elvin Long, KØQCZ has a 15' Playmore travel trailer that he is willing to donate to the club. Joe, KBØQHZ asked for volunteers to form an committee to investigate further. Volunteers were Ben, NØOFD, Mike, KA9RQW, Tom, NØSS and Gary, KØWYN.

Tim, KAØOUV, discussed field day operations, class of operation, antennas and equipment Final organizational meeting for Field Day meeting will be 22 June at Tom, NØSS house, at 7:00 PM. Seating will be limited.

Volunteers for Net Control Station for the Two Meter net are as follows:

VE exams administered after the meeting.
